= About Europe Shareware =
- 1. Presentation
- The goal of the Europe Shareware organisation is to translate, promote and distribute sharewares. The organisations actually counts more than 80 sharewares from around 50 european authors for Atari, Macintosh, Java and Windows systems.
- Founded the 5th january 2000 in France, Europe Shareware steadily developed its activities and is now present in France, Spain and North America (Ottawa, Canada).
- 2. Main actions
- - Europe Shareware communicates with the main media and institutions since july 2000 about the dangers of the software patents and is an active player of the Eurolinux Alliance.
- - The 11th october 2000 the Europe Shareware representatives have been invited to a conference in the European Parliament of Brussels to explain to the Members of the European Parliament the threat of the patentibility of softwares for the european shareware authors and the innovation in general.
- - Europe Shareware collaborate with many newspapers, magazines and leading european websites by giving the latest news concerning the software patents debate.
- - Our organisation organised conferences on software patents for the SINTEP Expo (march 2001 in Blagnac, France) and the European ShareWare Conference (november 2001 in Köln, Germany).
- - Europe Shareware managed to create a consensus among the main french shareware organisations against the software patents and launched a common information campaign on this subject.

- - Joël Fauché, a professional drawer known for some artworks on ADI, Adibou (the leading products on the education market), realised for Europe Shareware various illustrations to sensitize the public about the European Patent Office practices.
